Eighth Grade Academy Public Forum

Broken Arrow Public Schools is looking toward the future by hosting the second of two community forums regarding possible plans to open an 8th Grade Academy in the 2024 school year.

These forums will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, and Tuesday, May 3, in the Sequoyah Middle School gym, located at 2701 S. Elm Pl. Additional parking is available in the back of the building. “A new middle school was approved within the 2015 bond issue, and in reviewing the needs of our students over the past year, it has been determined that an 8th Grade Academy will accommodate our growing student body better than a traditional middle school for students in grades 6-8,” said Deputy Superintendent Dr. Karla Dyess. “We encourage families and community members to attend one of the forums to learn more about the unique academic and extracurricular opportunities an 8th Grade Academy would afford our students.”

The May 3 forum will be live streamed via ArrowVision.tv and the district’s YouTube channel. A recording will also be available following the event.
